We teamed up with the Manacare Foundation to improve the lives of the disabled, dispossessed and orphaned of southern Sri Lanka.

HOWEVER
The weather in Sri Lanka proved too tempestuous to effectively cultivate these exotic chilli plants. Our first two seasons’ plants were swept away by monsoon rains.

Intensive UK cultivation techniques have made exotic chillies more affordable in the UK and, with sadness, we are abandoning this venture.

The Manacare Foundation was founded in 1994 and work throughout the world. They currently have active projects in Egypt, Sierra Leone, Chile, South Africa, Malawi and the Philippines.

They have been working in Sri Lanka since three days after the tsunami hit in December 2004 and their ‘Hopes and Dreams Village’ is rebuilding the lives of people in the area.
